Solace Day 5 - Going Down, Down, Down

This is me bringing Solace through Otherton Lock on the Staffs & Worcs canal. Somebody before us must have emptied their bath while they were in the lock, judging by all the bubbles!

I try not to bump the boat as I come in but there isn't much leeway. The boat is about 6" - 8" wider than the bit you can see because of the gunwales (ledges) along the edge of the boat. This means I have about 4" to spare either side.

The man is out there opening the paddles to empty the lock so that we can come out of those gates to a lower level of the canal. While he is trying to empty the canal, water is pouring in from the canal at the other end of the lock! See Extra
