This is my mum...

….there are many others like her*, but this one is mine.

She may still not have mastered the art of looking at the camera as opposed to the person holding it and yes, she will insist on continuing to talk whilst the photograph is being taken, but she is my mum and I love her.

Yes, she may cremate the odd apple strudel here and there and yes, we may have altered “garlic bread” to “garlic dead” in honour of the charcoal log she once produced from an oven where mere moments before a wholesome garlicky baguette had been placed, but she is my mum and I love her.

She’s a committed clever crafter, loving wife and affectionately nicknamed “Nanny Two Puds” in a nod to the multiple desserts that are always on offer at her place. If you're ever in need a Nobbly Bobbly fix, you know where to find her...

The most important thing is that she is my mum, and I love her.
