From winter to summer...

...tyres. This is definitely the earliest date we have made this transition. Last year it was on the 6 May! The 3 years before that we switched tyres 11, 18, 19 April.  So for us the disappearing  snow has come about three weeks early but in the mountains, and even in the far north there has been very little snow. This is terrible news if you work with tourism (dog sledges, snow shoeing, skiing etc), or with reindeer where you need your snowmobile to find and eventually round up the animals.
It IS nice to be able to walk around in trainers and light shoes after a few months of boots and heavy shoes.
Anyway, the car is now quieter to drive, and is easier on the road surface with its summer wheels. Clocks changed, tyres changed, now we just need a little more warm sun to complete the changes.
