Don't fly away
Unlike the children's rhyme, this ladybird didn't fly away home but stayed put to allow me to take this photo. It was a bright accompaniment to our first session at the allotment this year. A combination of a cold wet winter and my wife having her cataract operation has kept us away. Which is a bit unfortunate as I've now become the Chair of the Allotment Association, not a position I was seeking, more a case of having office thrust upon me. It was a lovely day weather-wise to resume work on our plot, cutting deadwood out of the blackberry bush whilst my wife strung up the new growth. I assume it was the warm sun that encouraged the ladybird to make an appearance and pose for today's blip.
