Knowing What We Have And How To Use It!
It was a warm spring morning as we made our way to FBC on this very special morning in the life of our church. We are always grateful to be able to gather with each other to lift up worship and praise to God and to thank Him for all He has done for us, but today's gathering was extra special because we were joined by many who had been members in the past who had moved on to other places of service. They came back today to help us celebrate Daniel and Sandy for 30 years of service as our Minister of Music and an important part of many other areas of ministry in our church. We began our service with a heartfelt rendition of How Great Thou Art presented by the choir and orchestra, filled with members past and present, and our dedicated accompanists. The congregation was invited to join us on the final chorus. Pastor Wes followed with the welcome, after which the augmented choir and orchestra along with our talented accompanists presented one last special, "It Is Well With My Soul". The congregation then sang a few more songs of praise and worship before Pastor Wes turned our attention to focus on Ephesians 6:17 regarding the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. It is not enough just to know we have this weapon against our enemy, we need to know how to use it. Just memorizing it is not enough. We need to read it, listen to it and study it to find out what God meant when He inspired men to write it down, not just think about what it means to us. We need to apply it properly. The enemy knows all the right words. but he twists them to suit his own goals. Pastor Wes lays it all out very clearly in the Live-stream and it would benefit you greatly to watch it. We don't have to fear the enemy, but we do need to know how to fight him! Immediately after church, we attended the reception for Daniel and Sandy. I had hoped to get more pictures, but things don't always work out the way I planned and so the pictures you see are the pictures I got......
