Les champignons

Cheese and wine, as ever, was a little bit of a stress…getting the money, preparing the food, making sure we had enough supplies of everything else (including enough booze!)…but once the evening actually begins it really is a great night. My first one with Thom too, and again, such a difference. It really felt like I had someone to share the burden with rather than just have to make all the decisions myself.

Anyways, enough about that! The theme of the Kids Club was ‘Pirates’, and we had pretty much the entire campsite of children turn up. Ended up making pirate hats, cutlasses, eyepatches and the like before heading down to the beach to run a scavenger hunt (complete with instructions written burnt and tea stained paper – well, it has to be vicious enough!) where the children had to find certain types of shells…split into a girls team and a boys team, with judging for best shell of each category judged by the parents at the end. A thoroughly enjoyable Kids Club, even though making sure that the children didn’t run into the sea!
