MonoMonday: Weird and Wonderful

It's a bit hard to make this fit the brief (thanks gillyH) but golf is weird to some and wonderful for others.
I am one of the former. I've only ever had a couple of tries and was particularly bad at it.
I saw a joke on the wall in the pro shop. It went something like this:
Wife: Do you mean the less number of times I hit the ball the better?
Husband: That's right.
Wife: Then why hit the ball at all?
As I said, weird.

We met up with old friends we haven't seen for several years who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in the mountains. 
The boys played whilst Christine and I went around in the other cart talking.
Tonight we joined them for dinner at the Hydro Majestic where they are staying.
