Lammas Market, St Andrews

The Lammas Market has started to roll into town. It begins in Market Street on Friday and Saturday and then, by Monday, South Street will be full of shows too.

Since I was a wee girl, I remember the shows coming to town. Highlight would be for me to go on the dodgems and the hobby horses! I would save up my Lammas coppers in a kia ora juice bottle . We always used to go up late (9am!!) as a family on the last night, so we could see the shows all lit up. Dad bought us chips for the way home as a special treat.

When I was older, and allowed to go with my friends, I was more a fan of the walzers, but still bought chips on the way home!

Now, I just avoid it!
