Whelk Egg Cases

A and I walked along Cley beach this morning.  The tide was going out and we noticed quite a number of these whelk egg cases washed up in the strand line.

It was a glorious morning, clear blue sky, warm sun, although a cool wind.  I managed to submerge my feet in an incoming wave when I crouched down to take a photo and didn't quite get up quick enough.

I think my socks and boots have just about dried out now.
