Violets
Suddenly, violets are flowering in the lawns all over the estate. These are growing underneath Christina's tree. It's lovely to see them.
I saw a post on Instagram about how to preserve daffodils from year to year. You can deadhead them but not tie them up with string nor mow them down. I told Alastair, our neighbour. Sure enough, he was out in the garden in the early evening, deadheading the gorgeous daffs that have been growing in his border for the last week.
We're leaving our grass verge for the moment. We have primroses, cowslips, one or two violets, small daffodils and we have had crocuses. Give it all time to die back naturally.
