Fish in the Sky

The Mackerel Sky this morning was wonderful. I wonder if it will bring a change in the weather?

Frida, Monty and I had a good walk while Jill was at the gym. We then joined her and the other wonderful women for coffee and catch-up afterwards.

Mowed lawns after lunch, and then went to a very well attended book launch which was part of the “Aspiring Conversations” section of the great Festival of Colour” we have on this week in Wānaka. We are sooooo fortunate to live in a small town (pop 17,000) and have these very special cultural events.

The book was “Three Wee Bookshops at the End of the World” by Ruth Shaw. It’s a sequel to “The Bookseller at the End of the World”…a fascinating, fun, sad autobiography which has been translated into 10 different languages! It has seemed to struck a chord with many people. Jill and I have been on 3 trips on their boat “Breaksea Girl”…which didn’t even feature in her first book. Maybe there are some stories in her latest book.
