Lathyrus Odoratus

Porth Seal

Today we travelled to St Martin's, the most northerly of the Isles of Scilly,  in search of the hoopoe. As we approached the famous red and white stripped daymark on St Martin's Head I spotted my first, and only, hoopoe which was very exciting (I have photos on my big camera but no way to download them while we are away). Later I found another rarity, the Scilly shrew. My blip is of Round Island, with its white lighthouse, and St Helen's, seen from Porth Seal. The journey back to St Mary's was somewhat 'adventurous' as we were hit by a force five gale.
