A surprise around each corner

Our last day in Palermo,  so after checking out of the hotel we went for a walk. Again, we headed for the marina before going into the town for souvenirs for the family; then the Palace where we strolled round a garden park; we turned a corner and spotted the remains of a roman villa including a beautiful mosaic (see blip); then, in need of coffee, we headed to the cathedral, refreshed we went round the back and spotted a beautiful Asian mosaic design on the far side; then our last chance for arencini and the best ice cream on the Island. 

Time to say ariverdechi Palermo.  

The flight home was delayed due to a silly passenger who separated from his mother, sat in a different place and did not respond to the tannoy announcements.  We missed our take off slot and were delayed by 30mins awaiting another one. His mother told him off in no uncertain terms,  in Italian, and the aircrew could only stand and watch as she let rip. Well deserved. He was not a popular guy. We finally got home at 2 am.
