A big hoverfly

A day at home for me, whilst JJ went off to his final family history tutoring of the season.  I did book a hotel for one night on our way to Cornwall.  Why is everthing so scarily expensive?

I waited in for someone to come round to quote for our gutters to be cleared of debris.  We already have quotes of £50 and £150.  Someone called this afternoon and his quote was £750.  JJ is now going to get in touch with our window cleaners because they used to provide this service.  £50 sounds good but I would prefer it done by someone not climbing up a ladder.

It is sunny and warm but extremely windy.  However I have a corner between the house and conservatory which is toasty warm and sheltered.

The insects aren't staying still in this wind but the hoverfly stayed around just long enough.
