..."At The End Of The Day"...

...This morning it was foggy when we left Yorke Peninsula, but before we left, I remembered this tired old windmill sitting so lonely and sad it appeared to me, out in the paddock of one of my relatives and I thought it would make a good subject for the day..

...The Windmill had certainly seen better days, having no doubt suffered a few storms in the area, and weakness in quite a few spots there, and there you have it - the tired old Windmill ...

...I took a shot of the well itself down underneath which it would have pumped from - and it appeared so deep it wasn't a good idea to venture too close, even though there were a few tracks stock had made right there, I did wonder if any had disappeared down there over time, into the darkness of the earth..

...The troughs we can see here, and the tank, would have watered many stock, and were all made from mortar out of from limestone and crushed up shells..

...They made do in those days, but now - the old mill appears to be sleeping, no more will it turn and supply the farmers around there with water for their stock..and for their living..
