Village Sign

Village signs often paint an idyllic portrait of the places they represent. This one in the South Hams of Devon has thatched cottages, clear sky, a lovely river flowing through the water meadows, an ancient tree and a cider press with an apple tree, and baskets laden with apples. All of these exist and the blue sky which forms the background to the sign is a reminder that on a fine, Spring day we seem that little bit closer to heaven on Earth.
