Roll up! Roll up!

The circus is in town!  All looking very bright and cheerful today.  There wasn't an afternoon performance but I could hear music coming from inside, so I suspect there were rehearsals going on.  I don't think I've been to a circus in over 60 years and in those days they had all sorts of exotic animals on display.  Maybe it's time to revisit.

In other news I was saddened to learn today that one of my old bosses had died earlier this year.  I reckon he would have been late 80's so a 'good' age but of course, it's no consolation to those left behind.  He was without doubt my favourite boss of the few I had; firm but fair and a thoroughly nice guy.  I'd like to think I didn't make too many mistakes in my working life but I had to go and confess to him once that I had made a mistake on a calculation that had gone into some figures in a leaflet, and which meant that the complete print run (which would have been quite substantial) had to be dumped.  He simply said to me "Well, you won't do that again, will you?".  RIP RJB.
