Marc's last aquafit class - for a while

Our fitness trainer Marc took this selfie with the aquafit class this morning. Perhaps he wanted a souvenir of us all to gaze at while he is away on sabbatical?

Immediately after taking the photograph, Marc surprised us all when he discarded his top layers and jumped into the pool to exercise alongside us. He needed a volunteer to lead the stretches at the end of the class to allow time to dry himself before his first strength training class. When it looked that nobody else was willing to do this (or perhaps they couldn't hear the request?) I stepped up to the challenge. This also gave me an opportunity to call for 'Three cheers for Marc' when he emerged from his changing cubicle. We are all going to miss him.

After my morning at the gym, I met Mr hazelh and our American friend Rhea for lunch at the Palmerston. Rhea is in Scotland for a few days to exhibit some of her recent artwork in Resipole and on the Isle of Lewis. Our conversation was dominated by discussion of Trump.

Home again, I continued my work tending the long border in our back garden. Working from the rockery right to left, I have now almost reached the pond.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; aquafit class; swim (20 lengths); strength training class; walking (14,027 steps).
