A surprise

We ventured in to Funchal today to see the attractions. As a start we headed to the famous market only to find it closed! We hadn’t realised that today is a special Madeira bank holiday. The Cathedral was also closed. We will have to return another day.
 We did have an enjoyable visit to the Botanical Gardens and while walking around snapping potential blips, I noticed a bird perched high in a tree. I took a few photos but unable to see sufficient detail to identify. When I cropped in and did some editing I was surprised to find that it is a kestrel.
