Blue Tit ( Cyanistes caeruleus )
A quiet Sunday round home. As a result I took just in case shots of birds in the garden. The bokeh of the light through the bushes appealed so I chose this one.
Recently we haven't been getting many birds in the garden. A couple of years ago I would be filling the feeders daily. Now I fill them once a week. I hope this has nothing to do with the recent waves of avian flu that have swept the country over the last couple of years.
Sadly I have heard since we got home there has been an outbreak of avian flu among captive birds in the Eden Valley 10 to 15 miles away. People have been warned not to touch dead birds. Avian flu hasn't yet mutated to infect humans but it has recently been found in a sheep. A very worrying development.
