Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2025 Friday — Sunset

The sunset this evening was spectacular. But that’swhat came before the sunset was immensely meaningful.

We knew all week that we had a late afternoon appointment in SLO, so we planned to have a dinner date at "Nate's on Marsh" . . . to celebrate what did not happen and all that did happen in our lives 60 years ago . . . back then we were entering a long horrible season of being tagged “failures.”

The only people that were rooting for us was us. Everyone said our chances of making it were a million to one. We didn’t listen to them and on May 29th we got married.

Tonight lots of people were dining and celebrating at Nate’s; the conversations combined to create a roaring cacophony, but sitting next to the window at a table for two and talking about all the “what ifs” was deeply meaningful and a vivid reminder of how much we needed Jesus 60 years ago. Ten years later Jesus rescued Mr. Fun and then He rescued me. Jesus Christ gave us hope, purpose, and an eternal destination.

It feels so good to be forgiven; actually it feels like a miracle.

After an evening in San Luis Obispo, we returned to the coastline to watch the marvels of the Central Coast sunset.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
