A Treasure
No buried chest full of gold coins, but this treasure is Reaper, the traditional wooden fishing boat, launched in 1903. She is seen here in winter mode, without masts. Reaper is a treasure in several ways: She is the last surviving example of the first class Fifie hull combined with the original lug sail rig. There used to be many hundreds of boats like this. She is a floating museum, taking the story of the Scottish fishing industry to other harbours in the summer and is often visited by school parties. She is a national asset and received a large grant from the Scottish Government for restoration.
Maybe the entire waterfront is a treasure too.
The extra is another boat, also a treasure, the Lifeboat. Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting Wide Wednesday.
