The wilds of Surrey
Still the good weather continues, though with a good breeze. Today I went with my brother and his son down to the wilds of Surrey, to a place I have only just heard of. It's the 100m replica Atlantic Wall on Hankley Common, built by the Canadians in 1943 to train troops for the breaching of the real thing on the invasion of Europe in 1944.
As we walked away we were approached by a well-camouflaged soldier who was part of some training exercise nearby. He told us about the Wall and I snapped his back view as he approached the Wall - my Blip today.
We also visited a few other lovely Surrey places such as Elstead - the Parish Church of St James is my extra today. We lunched at Frensham Great Pond and drove back to Hampton, visiting my brother's other son and his family on the way. A wonderful day out!
