Muskrat love

A sunny but cool day so I headed for the valley and a walk at Miners Marsh. The birds were quiet, a few chickadees and sparrows, a couple of pairs of Canada geese, a pair of green winged teal ducks and a few mallards. The red winged blackbirds had been around, but they were hiding today. I could hear the cardinals but only got a glimpse of a female hiding in the middle of a rose bush. I also heard a pheasant, he was up on the hill somewhere in the woods. There were a couple of gray squirrels around but they were staying in the trees too, making it hard to get a photo of them.
I saw one muskrat swimming across the pond and got a couple of photos of him.  As I walked around I stopped to take a photo of a pair of mallards, then realized there was another muskrat sitting a few feet away having his lunch. He sat there ignoring anything that was going on around him. There was another woman nearby with a camera, so I beckoned for her to come over. As I started walking again there was another photographer there, she had a loooooonnnnnnnnnngggg lens on her camera and I told her about the muskrat. She likely would not have been able to focus on him with the lens she had on her camera. He would have been too close to the path for her.

A merchandising job tomorrow and possibly again on Friday. One of the Walmarts was going to have some renovations done in March and they didn't want us to do the relines until they moved the departments. Now they are moved, so they want us there asap. Snow in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon. Some of the helpers are coming from the valley(where I was today) and they don't want to drive home in the snow. They are going to start at 7 am and work for the morning. Dave and I will be there for 8:30.
