Yesterday I saw a friend from my ex-camera club and she mentioned they had a high/low key competition where the judge (club member), bizarrely, didn’t think colour pics could fit into those categories (probably because most people take the lazy B&W route when doing them… ahem!). In general, I’m somewhat wary of high and low key photos due to the pretentious, try-hard, “arty” types that often espouse those genres but, leaving aside my personal prejudices and preconceptions just for the moment, I decided to try a high key, colour shot for the hell of it and, despite my reservations, I’m really quite pleased with the result even though I say it myself!
