Go Ape, Aberfoyle

Of course it had to be the worst weather of the weekend (and the week ahead) for the boys trip to Go Ape for Cameron’s birthday. Not that they cared of course, they had such fun. And managed to get first to take off in their group .

We walked round a nice part of the forest (which is part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. We went into the cafe afterwards which was actually really good with home baking to have with our coffee.

It took the boys two hours to go round the course and we met them at the end where I took this pic.

Of course they were starved so I checked Google Maps for a restaurant that was open and decent reviews. Bingo, the Fairie Tree Inn at Aberfoyle just 5 mins down the load fitted the bill and was dog friendly.

Food was excellent. S and I shared the fajitas (thankfully) as no way could have eaten all that. We also shared the apple crumble and ice cream as that was also huge. Most importantly the others raved about it too which I was grateful for as Dave and Laura are so fussy! The boys just get tucked in!

We went to their house for some cake afterwards but didn’t stay long as I had hit a wall and felt so tired and sinusy:(

An early night
