Off the beaten track
We wandered the small stone paved alleyways with their archways and stairs in Cáceres today, with delightful cafés and bars and sunshine to savour. It’s a delight in the old historical centre. The city was founded by the Romans in 25 BCE.
- Statues of the Virgin Mary look out from numerous wall niches. Some are better cared for than others.
We’re off up north tomorrow!
