Earnest?

On a friend's recommendation we went to see the play Earnest? this evening at the Forum theatre.  This is a take on The Importance... but with the twist that the actor playing Earnest doesn't turn up so a random member of the audience is drafted in.

By various other connived means, the performance ends up with half a dozen audience members involved.

It takes the original comedy play to a very different place and was great fun.  Just how much fun is going to be critically dependent on the characters of the random selections, but the skill of the 'real' players to subtly steer, and enhance, the floundering amateurs to comedic effect was quite impressive.

The blip is from when we arrived quite early - it was a lot fuller by the start of the play.
