Hypoxylaceae
That's that the PictureThis app says this is. Wikipedia says Hypoxylon, but both agree that it is commonly found on dead wood, and is usually one of the earliest species to colonise dead wood, particularly on dead trunks of beech. And it was a dead beech tree. There's a wider view of it in extras.
