Mr Muckles

In the oldest part of the town is a pub called Muckles, so I would like to think this a portrait of the original landlord, Mr Muckles. Anyway, he looks a jolly landlord.

I couldn't find any past history of the pub, but there are a couple of other old pubs in the area. This pub is on the road out of Harrogate to Leeds, so ideally placed, especially in the days of horse drawn carriages.
