The Way Ahead

Another pleasant walk up the hill and across some different fields. Plus an extra - I think I’ve been spotted ;-))

Had to do the yearly tussle with the car recovery company ……….. I hate doing it but it was really worth it this year - I managed to get the annual membership subscription down from £254 to £103. However, I did have a complaint this year - back in January I had a problem with my car which meant it wasn’t drivable and because I was at home I kept being shunted down the waiting list until the wait time was more than 6 and a half hours, which would have meant they were turning up at almost 10pm!!! I got very annoyed, so I cancelled the call out and after contacting my usual garage, I had to arrange ( and pay for ) a pickup truck to take it to the garage.
I recounted this story to the recovery company, who had it all logged on their computer, couldn’t argue with me, so gave me an apology. I told them I wanted at least the cost of the pickup truck off my membership fee or I was cancelling it after being a member for 34 years. I have to admit I was quite amazed when they capitulated without a fight.
I’m not usually someone who complains about anything - maybe I should do it more often ;-))
