Fragrant
Initially I’d called this blip ‘smelly’, but that title gave totally the wrong impression! We visited CastleWard on the shores of Strangford Lough today, and the perfume of the spring flowers in the sunken garden was absolutely gorgeous!
We marched down to visit Winterfell, of Game of Thrones fame, but my goodness, you certainly needed to use your imagination to see it. The old square tower of the 1500s Castle Ward is in good shape, but turning it into Winterfell was a step too far for the AM and me. I guess these set creators and CGI specialists know their stuff!
We had a tour of the house, which was quite interesting. Afterwards we decided that we definitely prefer Mountstewart, the ‘country house’ of the Londonderrys on the opposite side of the Lough. I’m getting very posh and demanding in my old age. :-)
