The Deep
Time for our short break at Spurn Point to end, so we packed up and loaded the car ready to come home. The cleaner for the cottage arrived before we had left, and was surprised we were there. Someone had said we were only here until Thursday, and she said it was a good job she didn't turn up yesterday! We had a good chat with her before we left, she's also from Leeds.
We drove though to Hull today and visited The Deep. It's been a good few years since we were there. As usual in this sort of light, the iPhone camera did a better job than our proper cameras! We used a mixture during the day.
We got half way around the exhibit and decided to break for lunch, so we walked through the last bit quickly, and then shared a lovely sausage sandwich between us.
We went back in, and once again spent most of our time watching the jellyfish. They're mesmerising and the calm music was lovely. We also enjoyed watching the large animals in the big tank they have, including the two swordfish.
We stopped for tea and then drove to the end of the Humber Bridge to have a look at the view and the lovely new flood defences.
Then it was time for the final drive home, with just a stop at a chippy in the village for dinner. It would have felt like the holiday had ended sooner if we'd have had a normal dinner at home!
We've had a good week away.
