NZ Autumn 2025

So much rain!

I left on the three day ride over 1000 kms on Wednesday and the rain gauge was zero and on my return Friday it read 127.8 mm and had made 130 by Saturday morning from a brief overnight shower.
We had a dry to Hokitika bar the last 5 kms and the rain continued overnight and never stopped till we got past Arthurs Pass and onto the plains where it was good to have some dry riding through to Kaikoura.
Friday just 250 kms to do and the weather looked good with the potential for no rain so no over suits and away we went after breakfast with a lunch stop on the far side of Blenheim. As we left a drizzle was in the air which turned into steady rain all the way home and the flooding of the fields was the worst I had seen but the roads stayed clear.
The rain gave many good photographic opportunities but it also stopped them as with the wet weather gear on and the camera gear all covered it was too much hassle to do so.
The Extras
Back in the garage with everything drip drying hence the puddles on the floor the boots and  helmet are in the lounge enjoying the now sunshine.
Even with the rain it was an enjoyable trip with good company.

We saw 14c and 20c at various stages in among the rain. LOL
