Finding this very healthy monarch caterpillar amongst swan plant seedlings earlier this afternoon was a surprise - an extremely welcome surprise.

It would seem the paper wasps have finally moved to feeding on nectar rather than live food, allowing these eye catching caterpillars to grow and morph into the magnificent monarch butterflies.

Definitely best seen in large!
