Pair

A lunchtime walk down to the nature reserve brought two new butterfly species for the year: Orange-tip and Brimstone, along with Small White (pair, main image), Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell and Comma. I later saw a Speckled Wood in the graveyard, giving the full set of the seven species I’ve seen so far this year.

I’m hoping this fine weather lasts until I’m on leave in a week’s time.
