One Street - Colourful Character
I was feeling a bit lethargic this morning and decided that the best thing I could do was to get out on my bike for a short cycle along One Street, aka the Bridgewater canal.
Just as I got on to tow path and was getting my camera out of my bag two young ladies came striding along the tow path. They asked me how far it was to Dunham Massey and I guessed that it was around eight miles. One said that she walked at four miles per hour so it would probably take them a couple of hours there. I thought that this was on the optimistic side but wished them luck and said that I would probably pass them again on my way home.
I cycled as far as Lymm before turning around and heading back home. I saw them again on my way back and they laughed and said that their progress had been much slower than they thought and that they were not going to reach Dunham. They were going to walk as far as Lymm and treat themselves to an ice cream before heading back to their car in Stockton Heath. Despite their slower than expected progress their spirits were high.
This chap was moored at Lymm and was watching a group of young canoeists who were out on the canal.
