Blue Ball!

Latin name for this globe thistle - Echinops ritro (thanks to Google). Taking the dog with us this morning my sister and I had a slow walk in Pollok Park - every blade of grass, every flower needed some investigation - meanwhile L and I had cameras out and were trying to capture something different - not easy with the dog's lead wrapping round the ankles. I thought I had been in every part of the park but found one planted up area that was new to me ...... and there in the centre was this massive clump of globe thistles.
