Stacked scaffolding

I blipped these stacked scaffolding boards in Stockbridge on my way back from the gym at lunchtime. I love the textures of the embossed letters and numbers, and the different gradations in the worn paint.

I called in on my friends at the Edinburgh Coffee Morning prior to my trip to the gym (including Marc's last pilates class with us - sob!) Afterwards, I sat at the kitchen table opposite Mr hazelh to work/administer. Amongst the more exciting tasks were pitching an article idea for The Conversation, and deciding a date in June with Jack and Katharine to visit the puffins on the Isle of May.

The big event of the day was a surprise for Mr hazelh. In secret a few weeks ago, I booked two tickets for 'an evening of cosmic exploration' at the Royal Society of Edinburgh. There we listened to talks on missions to the moon, cosmic rays, and the science of Star Wars in the lecture theatre, joined in hands-on activities in the exhibition room, and observed the stars in a pop-up planetarium. Mr hazelh was a very enthusiastic participant, asking many questions of the speakers, and arranging a private conversation on gravitational waves with one towards the end of the evening. As anticipated, he loved his surprise.

As we walked home, we were accompanied by a young fox all the way down Dublin Street.

Exercise today: 30 minutes on the exercise bike; pilates class; 45 minutes on the running machine; cool-off dip in the pool; walking (24,016 steps including run).
