Tomato ossettai!

Today we walked over a mountain road, up to about 650m and down into the valley. We met a lady who had parked her car and was looking for green shoots by the side of the road to eat later. She asked us to wait and brought us these tomatoes from her car as ossettai. They were delicious!

We also had delicious tempura at our accommodation, made from local vegetables and mountain greens. Also, we tried some Doburaku sake, a special type of sake very local to this village, MÄ«hara, which isn’t filtered so it looks milky and the rice is left in. Also very delicious!

We walked about 20 miles today.
