Trixie's Adventures

Where is the water?......& a health warning. Lol!

After a busy few days with our Cornish friends, today, we have been mainly resting. Ie, I have been mainly lying on the living room floor in a sunny spot and Ann has been mainly lying on the sofa catching up on her soaps. Lol!

Obviously I've still been taken out for my walks. We went through the Hermitage and look what has happened to the burn..................... practically all the water has disappeared. How on earth am I supposed to go swimming if the water only comes up to my ankles? We've been back in Edinburgh for almost four weeks and have had pretty much perfect weather. I think the last time the weather was this good, at this time of year, was 5 years ago in lock down.

…............And now to the health warning part of our Blip. Ann says if this BLIP saves only one person from going through the 'mental anguish' that she has been through today, it will be worth it...............

Let me explain............... Today Ann has had a lot more poo's than normal. Please feel free to switch to another BLIP now if you don't wish to read about her toileting habits. Lol!  And the worrying thing is.................. they've all been BLACK. My human is pretty clever. She knows that 'black poos' are an indicator of internal bleeding and she also knows that a change in one's bowel habits is an indicator of bowel cancer. By mid morning, she had convinced herself that she had both!!! .........Honestly my human is such a 'Drama Queen' at times!!!  She didn't want to take herself off to A&E immediately cos she thought that would be a bit silly and also she needed time to gather some evidence first, ie she needed to poo in a Tupperware box so thinking about it logically, she decided that one more day wouldn't make much difference and she would phone the doctor at 8am on Monday.

Ann has spent a lot of time today 'Googling' internal bleeding symptoms and bowel cancer symptoms. She has almost scared herself to death with some of the results.

Having said that; she was feeling absolutely fine, so this afternoon she took me out for about an hour and a half and whilst wandering around in the sunshine, she suddenly had a 'lightbulb' moment. …........

.................Last night she was out with a friend and on the way home she had a 'BLACK' ice cream. It was from Luca's (which is the best ice cream shop in Edinburgh), it was called 'Black Hawaii' and was basically a dark chocolate & coconut ice cream. It was lovely! Her friend also had it (but she had a blob of something else as well) so she texted her friend to find out what colour her poos were today??? Guess what?............... Friend, also had black poos and had visited the toilet more than normal. Phew!!!

PS – Have added a photo of the offending ice-cream in extras. It was taken yesterday. In the whole of the 14+ years that I have been Blipping, I have never, ever, posted a photo on a day that it wasn't taken. However, after thinking a few hours ago, that I had 'internal bleeding & bowel cancer''............. I'm now having a glass of wine to celebrate that I'm still alive I just want to make people aware, that if they have the 'Luca's Black Hawaii' ice cream they might end up with black poos. Having said that................. It was absolutely delicious. One of the best ice creams I've ever tasted and I would definitely have it again. After all, who cares what colour their poo is? Lol. Ann x

EDIT - It’s not called ‘Black Hawaii’, it’s called ‘Dark Hawaii’
