Risk Assessments
Wise or not, we spent an hour or so with the bees. That means there should be bee pictures, but the inspections were so fast and cursory that there was no time for photography. Today, I was interested in only three questions
Are they building up the area of growing eggs and larvae? Yes -very quickly
Have they got enough food? Yes - and look at the forecast: it's insane. Frankly, it makes me uneasy, but for now, the bees love it
Have they got enough space? Yes - but see the first answer, it won't last long. Next visit, we will give them more
So, one less thing to worry about in sleepless small hours. Does that mean I can just sleep instead? That would be nice
The fritillaries are MrsM's prized achivement, and they are also relishing the exceptional spring. This is probably the best we will see them, so it has to be the blip
I did take a parting shot of bees. It looks like a breakout. Actually they are just curious that a hole has appeared in the ceiling where no hole there used to be - a lot of poking and prodding with mandibles and antennae required to become familiar
