Oystercatcher

Out all day up in Birsay. Dull at first but it brightened up by 11am and stayed sunny until 6pm when I got the bus home. I was looking out for spring migrants and wasn't having much luck until I got one, then three wheatears on the beach of Birsay Bay, usually a good spot. Got shots but all a bit distant. The Oystercatcher was on top of Marwick Head, just by where I was having my coffee.
I was sorry to read of the passing away of Jim Brandenburg today. If you don't know of him, he was an amazing wildlife photographer, famous especially for his shots of wolves.
