Chelmsford High St
After a late start and the usual long woofer walk, my afternoon was spent in the town centre when an appointment at Specsavers transmogrified in to some leisurely retail therapy. Like many towns and cities, the High street is but a shadow of what it was in my childhood, when it heaved with pedestrians and traffic on a Saturday afternoon (here) but there were still plenty of folk about in the adjacent 1970's High Chelmer shopping precinct and the more recently developed side streets with shops such as Rituals that are so popular with Gen Z.
Back home before 5pm, bro called for a cuppa and then, with the sun still shining, Rufus and I went for an early evening stroll in the park just because we could.
The evening has passed mostly watching 'Death In Paradise' series 8 on iPlayer while tinkering with a little sketch of the High Street.
Weather wise - simply gorgeous all day long, but there's a real chill in the air tonight as Rufus and I take our nightly turn 'round the block'.
ooh just realized that by coincidence I blipped almost the identical view one year ago here
