Adam Christie Story Continues

A cold wind, but mostly sunny all day.  The sunshine was warm in the lea.  A lovely evening, calmer too.

Up at 5am, early street cleaning in Lerwick.  The town was fairly tidy.  More cleaning at home after work.  A good few hours in the garden, weeding and tidying up.  Popped down to Laura's, then along mam's.  A quiet evening at home, walkies with Sammy, another early night to bed.

Mam and dad's friends have come to visit again, Judith and Hamish Keddie (my first time meeting them).  Hamish is the son of Kenneth Keddie, who wrote the book about my great grand uncle, Adam Christie, 'The Gentle Shetlander'. The 3rd of May last year, we had the unveiling of the carved Adam head by Brian Wylie, which has now found a forever home at his old homestead (above mam to left, house behind the barn extension). After meeting them out for a walk, we planned to show them the head, before a cuppa.  Unknown to us, they also had a gift, an original poster from the first Adam exhibition in Shetland, back in 1989.  Hamish presented the framed poster to dad, moments after seeing the head.  They really enjoyed time with the family, as we did with them.  L-R - Adam looking out to sea, mam, Hamish, dad, Judith, Jonny and Laura, taken outside Adam's house, Aith, Cunningsburgh.
