Wetlands

I made my way to the little bit of St Mary's Island that is wetlands to do the Holy Vale Nature walk. The area is called the Lower Moors and Higher Moors which implies it's very much more extensive than it is; the walk from one end to the other is about a kilometre. It's supposed to be a top spot for rare birds but all Merlin picked up from the songs I heard was European robin, common starling, house sparrow, great tit and European goldfinch. I went into one of the hides and saw two gulls. Nonetheless, it was a pretty walk.
