MOTHER'S DAY 2025 - backblip

Enjoyed with members of my S-in-L's family. M's brother cooked a wonderful lunch and  Mums provided the puddings. My daughter's M-in-L made a wonderful Frangipane tart, Lily and her dad made a fabulous gooey inside chocolate/hazelnut cake which was gluten free and made especially for me but enjoyed by others too.Yumm.

Super food, lots of laughter, memories shared for those whose Mothers are no longer with them (mine died when I was 40, so a very long time ago) and very competitive card games rounded off a lovely day.

I Hope all Mums have enjoyed their special day too.

NB: It was very different when we were young the day was called Mothering Sunday.  I remember going to church, hearing prayers said especially for Mothers and small bunches of wild flowers, usually Primroses, violets and/or Cowslips given, but as I was at Boarding school from a young age I probably never saw my Mother on that day.
