Greenway

Today we visited 'Greenway' which was Agatha Christie's holiday home on the River Dart. During the Second World War the house was requisitioned for use by the US Coast Guard. Lieutenant Marshall Lee, an illustrator before the war, painted a remarkable frieze around the library depicting events they experienced during the war. It would have been my blip for today but my photographs didn't do it justice. Instead, just like yesterday, I've gone for the gardens again with their proliferation of primroses and cyclamen.

Back home in Shropshire now with fresh asparagus from our kitchen garden to eat.
