Closed!

August is the month when Barcelona is closed. It used to be very noticeable everywhere, now in the centre less so, but there are still places that follow tradition and shut the shutters for the month. Like this trendy bistro bar.

Once about 20 years ago we moved barrio on 1st August and wondered what we had done as the place (Sarria) seemed like a desert. But then on 1st September we stepped out on the street and it was like someone had shouted 'Action!' and all the extras suddenly appeared in frantic action rattling up shutters, revving engines, and shouting the Spanish equivalent of 'Read All About It!' on every street corner!

Have had a very at home day today before strolling out with Dd and Dot, just left them holding lots of things to try on in a shop. Time to find a wifi spot and blip!
