Cambridge
We had a lovely dinner out last night and it was lovely to see Inca who took a break from her studies to join us. The portions were very small, I was fine with that but the lads wanted ice creams afterwards so Tommy took us to his favourite gelato spot, Jack's Gelato, where they got ice creams. As there has been a cold wind for days now, it was freezing cold standing outside while everyone was their eating ice creams, we sure felt that wind.
This morning we had a lovely breakfast in out hotel - it has rooftop views over Cambridge and it was lovely sitting there enjoying the views. Gavin, Luke, Tommy and I then wandered around the city, Tommy pointing out all his favourite locations. While Oxford is know as 'the city of dreaming spires', Cambridge is known as 'the city of perspiring dreams' and personally I prefer Cambridge as a city - it is smaller so easier to walk around and of course so charming with its centuries old colleges. I truly believe every tourist who visits England should definitely include Cambridge as a destination - oh wait, they do, as it is always heaving with tourists!
Adam and Anna then joined us and we had a most delicious curry lunch at Dishoom. Then we said our goodbyes, I did not feel too sad saying goodbye to Adam as thankfully we are seeing him next month in California.
We had an easy drive home and shortly after we got home Fiona returned with Xena who was delighted to see us (and Tommy who came home with us)
It has been a memorable and lovely weekend!
